Fans of The Witcher, take note! CD Project RED has teamed up with Dark Horse once again to bring us a comprehensive look into the Witcher universe.
The Witcher Adventure Game Closed Beta Launches!
If it were only an incredible game series, The Witcher would be renowned for its story and characters, but Andrzej Sapkowski's creation is far more than that. It started off as a series of short stories and novels about the titular Witcher, Geralt of Rivia. Its success lay in the way it took classic Polish fairy tales and updated them to a much more mature setting, one as full of intrigue and polical backdealings as it was monster violence and sex scenes. It's the kind of source material that lends itself so well to art, and The Witcher comic has proven that.
Now though, we're getting The World of The Witcher, which will contain never-before-published art from all three Witcher games.

“The World of The Witcher is really unique, as it’s the first successful attempt at creating such a comprehensive compendium about the Witcher series of games and beyond,” said RafaÅ Jaki, Franchise Director, CD PROJEKT RED. “I’m sure gamers and fans of the universe will have tons of fun reading it,” added Jaki.
The book will be a hardound volume that contains not only art but in-depth knowledge about "the locales, the deadly beasts that inhabit them, and the lethal weapons used to put them down."
"Dark Horse is very enthusiastic about expanding our collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED with The World of The Witcher. This book is a perfect way for fans to take a deep dive into the vast and compelling lore RED has created with The Witcher franchise, whether they are longtime followers of the games and novels or are being introduced to this world for the first time,” said Nick McWhorter, VP of licensing, Dark Horse Comics.
The book is available for pre-order right now on Amazon and will be available on February 24, 2015, right in time for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
