Battlefield 4 Premium players have cause for celebration today, because the game's latest DLC, Naval Strike is now good to go. That is, unless you planned on playing the game on PC.
Why? Developer DICE explained in a new Battlelog post: "We are delaying the launch of Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC. We've detected an issue and it needs to be solved. Quality is our number one priority and we will not release Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC until we feel it meets the highest quality level possible. We are also working on a larger update to release alongside Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC that will address the issue of Tablet Commander not working correctly. Once we have a confirmed date for PC, we'll be sure to update those players on our official channels. We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing everyone on the Battlefield."
This is one more in a long string of problems Battlefield 4 has been experiencing since release. The game's second DLC, the aptly named Second Assault, hit the Xbox One first as a timed exclusive in November, but users were quick to report problems, the first of many including not being able to download the DLC. Right about then was when gamers started finding a multitude of other issues within the game, sending EA and DICE to work to fix the problems before they would release the DLC on any other platforms.
While PC players are S.O.L., a patch has hit the game to prepare for the DLC's arrival on the remaining platforms. You can check out the complete patch list below:
- Battlelog now supports the Naval Strike expansion pack for Battlefield 4. The content will be enabled as the release is rolled out on the various platforms.
- The video background has now been enabled by default; you can turn it off for specific computers by going to Settings
- Carrier Assault will not display scores in Live Scoreboard and BattleScreen; this will be fixed with the next Battlelog update in 2 weeks

Naval Strike offers four all-new multiplayer maps set in the South China Sea: Lost Islands, Nansha Strike, Wave Breaker & Operation Mortar. DICE detailed each map last week. The DLC also brings in five new weapons, the new amphibious hovercraft vehicle, and two additional gadgets - 3GL (3 grenade launcher) attachment for the Assault class, and the Anti-Heli Mine; an aircraft disabling projectile for the Engineer class.
Naval Strike's general release is set for April 8. Two more DLC packs are scheduled for a release this summer - Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand. Information for Dragon's Teeth is already starting to creep out, and rumors are in the air regarding potential map names and details.
