Players that are hoping for more "Mass Effect: Andromeda" information would most likely be pleased as BioWare released another trailer. The new video focuses on the different weapons, abilities and combat system featured in the sci-fi RPG. The weapons training trailer showcased pistols, assault rifles, sniper rifles, and shotguns. The different melee weapons were also highlighted along with combat abilities and other skills.
One of the game's crewmembers, Liam Kosta, takes center stage throughout the video. Kosta is the Pathfinder team's security specialist and seems fitting to guide players through the game's firearms training. Game Rant notes that the tutorial appears to be very helpful, in order for players to discover the type of weapons that they would most likely main throughout the game.
Pistols
The "Mass Effect: Andromeda" weapons training video first focuses on pistols. Kosta describes them as the player's standard firearm for short-to-medium range enemy engagements. He also points out that reload times are faster, most likely due to weapon's weight and design. BioWare also included a preview of the explosive grenade rounds upgrade.
Assault rifles
Liam notes that these firearms are designed for combat against multiple targets in quick succession. The security specialist talks about their rate of fire and their long range capability. The video also flaunts a new modification that shoots electric charges.
Shotguns
These weapons are designed for short-range encounters and inflict significant damage up close. He mentions that players can also choose to upgrade its ammo into laser shell rounds.
Sniper rifles and melee weapons
The weapon type discussed by Kosta deals great damage from long range and is reportedly very accurate. He notes that the weapon usually takes down a target with a single shot. Melee weapons, on the other hand, require players to really get up close with their targets and obviously do not consume any ammunition.
The weapons training trailer also included details about the different abilities and the suit's jump jet, which players can tweak to suit their battle tactics and improve their overall mobility during combat. PC gamers can also check the official requirements provided by BioWare in order to run "Mass Effect: Andromeda" on their rigs. Gamespot lists the ideal specifications as GTX 1060 or RX 480 for graphics cards, while processors should be an i7-4790 or FX-8350 respectively. The game hits retailers on March 21, 2017.
