Nintendo Switch was recently torn down, revealing more specs than initially revealed by Nintendo. Apparently, Nintendo may put a 4GB LPDDR4 1600MHz RAM on the Nintendo Switch. Moreover, the recent teardown reveals that the Nintendo Switch may also pack a custom NVIDIA Tegra X1 chip.
Nintendo Switch Sports Two Samsung Modules In The Hood
It should be noted that the Nintendo Switch also comes with a second-gen Shield TV's 20nm Tegra X1 transistor count, said to be a perfect match for the NVIDIA chip. Rumors have also been circulating that the Nintendo Switch will use efficient DDR4 mobile RAM, Tweak Town reported. Moreover, the teardowns on the Chinese site Tabao revealed that the Nintendo Switch may pack two SDRAM modules made by Samsung.
Apparently, the details were also spotted on the system's PCB. While the images used were said to be fuzzy, the consensus was that the SDRAM modules to be used on the Nintendo Switch are the K4F2E304HBMGCH. Moreover, the Samsung modules have been noted to sport 16 gigabit of density or 2GB.
Note that with two Samsung modules present on the Nintendo Switch, the hybrid console sports 4GB of unified LPDDR4 memory. The Samsung website also confirms that the two modules may have maximum frequencies of up to 2,666 MHz.
Nintendo Switch, however, is believed to be clocked at 1600 MHz. Furthermore, the modules are said to provide higher bandwidth and greater density for excellent graphic resolution, instant play performance, instant-on and smooth streaming multimedia.
