When "Star Wars Battlefront" came back in 2015, fans voiced out their complaints about the game's apparent lack of a single-player campaign. Instead, the sci-fi FPS decided to focus on its multiplayer aspect entirely. However, it appears Electronic Arts and DICE have finally listened to their fans. They have announced that "Star Wars Battlefront 2" will have a story campaign mode.

Reports pointed out that the information was gathered from the company's earnings call. Their CEO Andrew Wilson surprised gamers with a confirmation of the single-player campaign for "Battlefront 2." To further build the hype around the sequel, he added that the new content will span different eras from the movie series. Wilson reportedly mentioned "Rogue One" and "The Force Awakens," but failed to confirm if these movies are part of the second installment, according to Gamespot.
Sources claim that fans of the shooter will most likely appreciate it if "Star Wars Battlefront 2" includes stuff from "Rogue One" and "The Force Awakens." However, others reportedly think that including content from those two movies is unnecessary. Some reports point out that the 2015 game has already introduced elements from those two films. The "Rogue One: Scarif" DLC and "Battle of Jakku" from the first game confirms their argument.
As noted by Game Rant, it appears to be good move for the publisher to consider their fan's suggestions. Although their 2015 Battlefront game reportedly shipped more than 14 million copies, players continue to point out suspected flaws and ask for more content. However, their decision to add a single-player campaign intended for the sequel appears to have already made some of their fans happy.
"Star Wars Battlefront 2" is scheduled to launch sometime in 2017's holiday season. Andrew Wilson from Electronic Arts told fans to expect a "bigger" game compared to the first. DICE, Motive Studios and Criterion Games are working on the sequel, which is coming out for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
