'Alaska' Gets Free-To-Play DLC This Month; Details Revealed

The "Alaska" downloadable content is slated to be added in the open-world sports game "Steep" on Feb. 10, 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PS4 players. Additionally, the 1.04 patch will reportedly add new features in-game including a live page. Furthermore, the new mountain is slated to add the Steep World Tour Tournament.

G-Force System Gets Major Facelift In "Alaska" DLC

The "Steep" developers reportedly altered the G-Force system to when players get hit. Furthermore, several improvements have reportedly been made to the jumps and tricks in the system allegedly to make things more fair and clear. The "Alaska" DLC is further slated to include the option to toggle and hide the Heads Up Display when riding as well as the Director Mode, Gamerant reported.

Note that this mode reportedly allows "Steep" players more intuitive in screen-recording. Prior to the "Alaska" announcement, Ubisoft also announced the Season Pass and three DLC packs for the game. It has further been noted that the new "Alaska" content will be centered around the Alaskan mountain range.

The publisher is yet to reveal additional details on "Alaska" such as ski or boarding types and challenges. However, Ubisoft has reportedly confirmed that "Alaska" would be free to download on all gaming platforms. Ubisoft further unveiled the upcoming DLC map featuring available playstyles and points of interest. In addition, the 1.04 patch is slated to feature a live page to keep players updated on scores and rankings in the competitive tournament.

Steep World Tour Makes A Comeback In "Alaska" DLC

Meanwhile, the "Steep" developers have also revealed that the biggest change the "Alaska" DLC would be bringing into the game would be the Steep World Tour competitive tournament. It should be noted that the monthly series was first seen in the Backcountry event. "Steep" players are reportedly tasked to race on the Cursed Mountain and earn a minimum of 5,000 points to move to the next phase of the competition, WWG reported.

The "Alaska" DLC is expected to see more players join the competition that began last Jan. 30 and is expected to end on Feb. 2, 2017. The tournament reportedly features medium difficulty called the Rocky Path in Tyrol. Note that the finals is expected to be held on Feb. 4-Feb. 6, 2017.
