Though the PlayStation 4, and to a lesser extent the Xbox One, are selling well, it's pretty safe to say there aren't many killer must-have titles out for either system. However, both consoles will be getting arguably their biggest exclusives yet this month in Infamous: Second Son and Titanfall respectively.
In more good news for Sony, who in particular has been criticized for a weak launch lineup of games, Infamous: Second Son is seeing very strong pre-orders in the UK. The game has been pre-ordered more times than Naughty Dog's cinematic hit The Last of Us.
"We have high expectations for Infamous: Second Son and are excited by the level of pre-orders which are exceeding that of The Last of Us at this point in the run up to its launch," said SCE UK product manager Josh Walker.
"We can already see it benefiting from the goodwill and of buzz surrounding the PlayStation 4 and expect Second Son to be the biggest game in the Infamous series to date."
This is definitely positive for the PS4, and maybe a lack of launch titles will benefit any big games released in the future. Console owners haven't had that much to play, and may eat up big releases even more than they normally would in eager anticipation. It helps that the very game looks good, which we saw more of it in some leaked gameplay footage recently.
As such, it's not overly surprising that the game is doing so well with pre-orders, and it should lead to strong overall sales for the game, which may move even more PS4 units off the shelves.
Infamous: Second Son is due out March 25 exclusively on PlayStation 4. It will require a 24GB install, and is a single-player only experience. Check back here for more news as the release date approaches.
