Much like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, whose DLC basically acted as the real ending to the game, Lords of Shadow 2's DLC is similarly thought to be of major significance to the story. After all, it was in the first game's DLC that you found out that (Spoilers) Gabriel Belmont was actually the man who turned into Dracula and started this whole mess in the first place. That's a pretty big thing to leave out of the main game! If files found in this sequel are true, Dracula's son Alucard (read it backwards) will be returning for a starring role once again, perhaps to giving us yet another major revelation on the way..
Polygon noticced a CS.RIN.RU forum member named UbiSergei who found text files in the game that reveals the details of the upcoming DLC.
"Play as Alucard in this extensive add on for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2," the content's description reads. "The immersive story is expanded further as new branches of the plot are uncovered, along with rich new environments and challenging puzzles. Fight creatures of darkness and discover the true extent of Alucard's involvement in Dracula's story, his deal with death and his fight against Satan. Experience a whole new aspect of the thrilling conclusion to the 'Lords of Shadow' saga, including some enlightening revelations!"
It certainly sounds authentic, and the reboot of the story is one of the more interesting aspects of Lords of Shadow 2. Dracula's son turned out to be Trevor Belmont, whose son is Simon Belmont, two of the main characters of Castlevania games past whose sole purpose in life was to hunt down the vampire themsleves. Alucard himself has appeared in many games- first in Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse alongside two other characters, although he was the clear star. He could shoot fireballs and transform into a bat, after all. He got a few more abilities as the main protagonist in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which is still the best entry of the series. As with the Belmonts his goal was always to hunt down and kill his own father. Insert your own "bad blood" joke here.
The Revelations DLC hasn't been officially announced yet but we'll let you know when it is.
