There are a lot of GoPro Hero 6 rumors circulating online after the release of the GoPro Hero 5 this October. Although fans love the company's latest action camera, its short battery life has turned off a lot of customers and they are already looking forward to its successor. A lot of people are asking when is the release of the GoPro Hero 6 but there are talks that it might never come out.
Is the GoPro Hero 6 cancelled? Just last week, GoPro's shares dropped to 2 percent despite offering new products this year, a devastating loss for the company. Last month, it announced that it would close its entertainment unit and let go of 15 percent of its employees. Clearly, this is a bad omen for GoPro. Should this continue, it's possible that the company might just shut down due to bankruptcy. If so, then the GoPro Hero 6 might just be a no-go.
If, however, things turn out sunnier for the company, then the expected GoPro Hero 6 release date may fall in the last quarter of 2017. Customers can assume that the GoPro Hero 6 will retain the GoPro Hero 5's features such as a touch screen, built-in image stabilization and 4k video shooting capacity.
Points of improvement for the GoPro Hero 6 features
Still, there are some things that the upcoming action camera can further upgrade. This time around, the GoPro Hero 6's battery life should be improved so that using WiFi and GPS won't drain it too much. This was one of the biggest complaints about the GoPro Hero 5. It should also be noted that right now, the GoPro Hero 5 is waterproof and can stand being submerged in 33 feet of water. Its successor could perhaps go beyond a depth of 33 feet. The responsiveness of the action camera's touch screen should also be fixed because users said it responded poorly to wet fingers.
Will GoPro cancel the GoPro Hero 6 release? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more GoPro Hero 6 updates.
