Another big jump for Amazon as the company gave an update for their one of the most high-tech gadget, Amazon Fire Tablet. It is now featuring Amazon Rapids, an app for the children's interest in reading via the chat-based mobile app.
On Monday, Amazon released several new features for Amazon Fire Tablet, however, the one who took lots of attention was the Amazon Rapid. The app provides the chat-based mobile app that lets children read stories, helping them learn while having fun. It was originally launched last year as a subscription service.
Amazon said, "Amazon Rapids adds a fun, new dimension to reading, with illustrated short stories written in a unique chat style that bring stories to life, one message at a time." In its storytelling format, the children will have a control with the pace of the reading.
Clicking the next chat bubble is the easy way to get to the next sequence of the story. To add to this, Amazon Rapids helps the children learn how to read. Words with hard pronunciation can be added to its dictionary for the later practice. There's also a "read to me" mode in which the app can narrate stories for the children.
In Amazon Fire Tablet's new feature, there are different story genres like sports, science fiction, humor, mystery, adventure, and fantasy. Amazon Rapids is still a subscription based with hundreds of stories. Every month, the apps are updated with new stories that cost $2.99 per month. Amazon Fire Tablets were not the only one containing the new feature, Fire HD 10 and Fire HD 8 were also part of the update.
On the other hand, there is still one new feature that Amazon Fire Tablets have; and that is the Alexa video support which was considered as the Amazon's Siri version. Alexa support was first rolled out in Fire devices earlier this year in which the user can search for songs, audiobooks and games. The assistant can now help in searching for movies, and TV shows on Amazon video which includes Amazon channel's subscriptions.
These amazing new features of Amazon Fire Tablets are now available for all Fire Tablets user. If you want to experience its great performance, try rebooting the device or simply switching the airplane mode on and off.
