Titanfall Beta Codes Selling on Ebay For Hundreds of Dollars

Titanfall Beta Codes Selling on Ebay For Hundreds of Dollars

How much would do you think people would pay to be able to play Titanfall for a few days? $30? $80? How about hundreds, or thousands or dollars? If you are the lucky winnner of one of the (free!) private beta codes for the game all this money can be yours, as gamers flock to eBay with their codes for a financial windfall. And they're selling, too.

The only way that people could have gained access to the beta on Xbox One or PC is to have signed up on the site when registration started earlier this week, and it seems like most of the codes have been sent out, although developer Vince Zampella has been giving away some codes via Twitter. There's still a lot of codeless people out there and they've got their wallets out, begging for them. Titanfall does look incredible, after all, and Xbox One gamers are dying for something new right now.

While some of the most obscene listings are going for thousands of dollars (someone in the UK is selling it for £3,500) a look at completed listings reveals a ton of codes which have already sold from anywhere from $25 to a hundred dollars. Perhaps people are simply unaware that the beta will only be active until 6:00 pm on February 18th, and it doesn't give you a full copy of the game when it's released? That's not a lot of gameplay for your buck. After all, this beta is just to test the servers when thousands of people are playing online at the same time, and will certainly be full of bugs and issues that will (hopefully) be cleared up when the game is released.

But hey, even if you don't get (or buy your way) into the beta you only have less than a month to wait for the real thing! Respawn Entertainment's hugely anticipated shooter hits XBox One and PC on March 11th, with the XBox 360 version arriving shortly after.
