After offering only brief peeks at the new mythical pokémon Diancie, Nintendo is finally stepping up to the plate and providing a considerably better view at the rock-fairy type that brings the total creature count to 719. The company revealed that Diancie is capable of producing a massive amount of diamonds instantaneously by compressing air between its hands. Going against everything that DeBeers stands for, it then hurls these girls' best friends at enemies.
A new video is out that finally shows Diancie in action, demonstrating its abilities on some severely unlucky opponents. Check it out below.
As you might expect from a mythical pokémon, Diancie is incredibly rare, and will not be encountered during normal gameplay. According to "hackers," players would get the chance to catch Diancie during an event called "Couriway Ticket," which would have the player take the train from Couriway City to a new area. Nintendo hasn't confirmed, but has promised to reveal how players can get their hands on Diancie at a later date.
Diancie's special ability was also said to be called "Shining Jewel," and would power up special moves, provided no weather effects were in play. Given the design, it stands to reason that whopper of a diamond on Diancie's head would be involved in one way or another.
But Diancie likely isn't the only new pokémon players have to look forward to. At the same time Diancie surfaced, two other legendary pokémon were also discovered: Volcanion and Hoopa. But Nintendo has yet to mention anything about these two.
Diancie will make its official debut in the next pokémon animated movie "Cocoon of Destruction," which opens in Japanese theatres in July. It will appear in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y sometime thereafter.
