iOS 10.2 has been released after seven betas. The best part of the news is that Apple is confirmed to keep one of the best features from the previous betas.
With the release of iOS 10.2, two emoji called Female Singer and Male Singer are said to be found among the 100 new emoji. According to reports, both emoji are not actually generic singers, but the departed David Bowie as Apple's tribute to the popular singer.
However, female and male emoji counterparts may likely miss the point, as pointed out by the purists, given that Bowie was known for his androgynous personality. Nevertheless, some believe that is still a good thing to remember the great artist through the featured emoji in the new iOS 10.2, as the year that took his life comes to an end.
It should be noted that the Bowie emoji is said to be just a small part of the many new emoji in iOS 10.2, and that even the current emoji designs have all been updated as well. Now, iPad, iPod touch and iPhone users can find different characters, new professions and expressions such as shrug, facepalm and fingers crossed, including new emoji that represent food, animals and sports among others, according to report.
Meanwhile, security updates were also added to the iOS 10.2 release. The Apple security update pages reportedly outlined the changes that are expected to work on the iPhone 5, iPad 4th generation and iPod touch 6.
According to reports, the iOS 10.2 fixes the security issue related to a strange unlock trick that went viral on YouTube. The users were reported to have accessed contacts and photos from the lock screen by going through some steps without actually unlocking their phones.
With iOS 10.2, the said bug has now been fixed, along with some security bugs, which could have likely allowed anyone with physical access to other's phone to unlock it, according to Gizmodo. Watch The New iPhone Update Comes With David Bowie Emojis:
