After demonstrating that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is good to go on PlayStation 4, MGS master Hideo Kojima had another interesting picture to share via the social media soapbox that is Twitter.
Kojima has been tweeting a variety of pics showing Ground Zeroes running on Sony's handheld, the PS Vita. Looks like the game will be taking advantage of the PlayStation 4's remote play ability. Wrote Kojima, "This is not "TRANSFARRING" but remote play. By using PS4 as family cloud environment, you can play it outside.Finaly!"
It has to be said that while small, the screens are of substantial quality. A saluting soldier, Chico, and view of the camp could all be easily seen, even with the glare from Kojima's camera.
While it hasn't been confirmed, based on this, let's assume that the second half of Metal Gear Solid V, The Phantom Pain, will also feature remote-play.
Ground Zeroes acts as a prologue to The Phantom Pain, and takes place in 1975, shortly after the events of Peace Walker, but nine years before Phantom Pain. Expect it to work as something of an expanded tutorial, helping to show newcomers the ups and downs, as well as feature "Side-Op" sub-missions, and a few challenge trials with ranking and leaderboards if you're feeling competitive. The game will take place at a U.S. black site facility in Cuba dubbed Camp Omega. Fans were introduced to the camp (as well as a mysterious disfigured mess of a man) in a trailer shown during an event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the series
The ESRB recently released its rating for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, saddling the game with an expected Mature rating, as well as a few potential spoilers. The game is expected to release this March for PlayStation 3 and 4, and Xbox 360 and One.
