Ubisoft’s newest open world pirate thriller Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag may have seen a lot of popularity over the months, from the initial inception of the game until the final release and beyond, but that doesn’t mean the company has forgotten about its mobile offering Assassin’s Creed Pirates. Now, Ubisoft has announced that the game’s first major update has been pushed out for the both iOS and Android platforms.
Assassin’s Creed Pirates, Ubisoft’s latest offering on the mobile platform, that’s considered to be the next best thing to the original game, has received the new update which offers new missions, added achievements and brand new exploration paths for players and users.
The official description for the update 1.1.0 states: “Continue exploring the Caribbean to discover the mythical Nassau, a new playground, featuring 10 new secondary missions and 12 new treasures!”
Players, with the new update in place, will meet the brutal pirate, Charles Vane, in a new campaign mission, with three new ships to unlock and set sail on – The Brisk Fortune, The Jack Snipe and The Citadel.
It adds: “Put your defense skills to the test in new defense gameplay: use new strategies, like destroying cannonballs in the air, to turn the situation around by counterattacking your enemies!”
“Keep in touch with your pirate friends, and check your Facebook contacts on the map.”
Interestingly, the company has also stated that the in-game Nassau map “will be the most difficult yet,” although “the challenge has been upped across all the game’s ship battles.”
“New defensive mechanics have been added to allow you to destroy cannonballs mid-fire and provide access to new counterattack capabilities,” the company further states.
Assassin’s Creed Pirates, developed via a brand new mobile engine “to bring groundbreaking 3D visuals to Assassin's Creed Pirates,” according to Ubisoft, was released on December 5, and is currently available now for $4.99 on iOS and Google Play.
