Wargame Red Dragon Trailer: Epic 20-Player RTS Battles [TRAILER]

Check Out the Epic Battles in This Wargame: Red Dragon Trailer

The first teaser trailer for the upcoming Wargame: Red Dragon is here and offers up more explosions than most. But then again, when you've got massive 20-player RTS battles, you're going to have a little conflict. The combat here is absolutely epic!

If you've somehow missed the series, Wargame: European Escalation was published in 2012 with a number of expansions coming out over the year, and Wargame: Airland Battle came out in 2013. It was almost universally considered to be a step forward for the already-acclaimed series, and it looks like Wargame: Red Dragon might be just as improved.

As you might have been able to tell from the name and the concept art, Wargame: Red Dragon is set in Asia, where NATO and Pact armies have deployed. Like the others it's set during the Cold War, this time in Central Asia between 1975 and 1991. This gives us five new nations (including China and North Korea) to play with, effectively adding 450 new units to the game. There are now - wait for it- 1,300 different units in the game- can anyone else claim as much?

The series strives for realism and it's pretty remarkable how you can zoom in from a giant map of the conflict onto each individual unit. Literally millions of objects are rendered in high-res on maps that can be miles and miles long, and this installment looks like the most frenzied so far. One big addition to the game is the addition of naval units, from small boats to giant warships. The battles over rivers and across seas will add much to the gameplay, you can see that much from the trailer alone.

Wargame: Red Dragon will have a solo campaign that's set around a war in Korea and that multiplayer mode that offers up a staggering 20-player battles. If that seems absolutely huge you're right- no other real-time strategy games offer anything close.

Check out the teaser trailer below and keep an eye out for more screens and videos!
