Playstation Plus January 2014 Update- Free Bioshock Infinite, Brothers, Don't Starve for PS4

Playstation Plus Starts Off 2014 With An Absolutely Ridiculous Line-up Of Games

Well this is a nice way to start the new year! An update on Sony's Playstation Blog today reveals that Playstation Plus subscribers have a slew of great games to look forward to in 2014. This list of games include plenty of this year's game of the year contenders like Bioshock Infinite, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and Don't Starve.

Here's the full list of games available. Note that there's no set release date for the games on the service just yet, but each week generally brings a single new freebie.

Don't Starve (PS4 version) - This is an incredible survival game that's sure to be a ht on the new system, although I would sure love a portable PS Vita version. (Cross-buy, be our savior!) It's a tough, uncompromising game, as you seek to create new structures and weapons during the day to prepare yourself for the night, where beasts dwell. Make sure to find some food during the day and keep that fire burning at night...

Bioshock Infinite (PS3) - You've probably heard of this one. Giving this away for free makes sense now that they're trying to push the DLC, and you're much more likely to pick up a season pass or the Burial At Sea DLC if you've got the game for free. If I may give some advice though- Burial at Sea isn't worth it. Rapture should have stayed in the past.

DmC: Devil May Cry (PS3) - This game sold far fewer copies than Capcom would have liked but it's apparently one of the best in the series... take that as you will. While not many were happy with the new art direction and look of Dante, Ninja Theory's game got almost universal acclaim. Here's your chance to check it out.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (PS3) - One of the most acclaimed games of the year. From Swedish director Josef Fares and Starbreeze Studios comes this story about two brothers going on a journey to save their father's life. I still haven't played through it myself but much has been said about the story and the controls, which allow you to control each brother with a single analog stick on the controller.

Worms: Battle Island (PS Vita) - It's Worms for the Vita. What else do you need to know? The series always offers up excellent multiplayer, even if the series hasn't really changed at all since its inception.

Smart As... (PS Vita). - This may seem like the black sheep of the group, a brain training game in the vein of Brain Age, but it's apparently a fun enough logic puzzle game. If anything, it'll give you an excuse to use all those seldom-use features on the VITA- the rear touchpad, camera, mic, etc.

As per usual these games are available to you for as long as you're a Playstation plus subscriber.

So as you can see, January is going to be an amazing month for Playstation owners, especially when you consider all the deep discounts you also get as part of the service. (I picked up both Spelunky and Guacamelee for $3.75 a pop this month!) If you don't have a Playstation Plus subscribtion at this point it's almost like you're throwing money away.
