The last of Titanfall's mechs have been revealed! Here is the Atlas Titan, which has a bit of a deep-sea diver look to it. As we previously announced in our last bit of Titanfall news this is the third of three Titans in the game. Besides the Atlas we have the Stryder mech, which is fast and nimble, and the Ogre, which is a lumbering, armored monstrosity. Obviously the Atlas falls right in between the two and looks to be the best pick for someone new to the game.
This new trailer from Hammond Robotics shows exactly why you'll want to jump in the Atlas. You'll also see that Hammond really, really thinks highly of itself and its robots, and considers this the workhorse of the titans. It's got a great look to it, that's for sure.
In the game Titans will place a huge role (no pun intended) but you won't have ready access to them. At the beginning of each match you'll have to wait for them to be built, and then you can call them into a place where there are no overhead obstructions. Then there's that incredible Titanfall, where the Titan comes hurtling through the air and slams into the ground. You can jump right into the cockpit when it's landed and be completely protected and encased inside its armor- at least, until it takes ton of damage. Thankfully there's an ejector seat that you can use to launch yourself out before it explodes.
As famously stated there's no real single-player campaign in this game- Titanfall will attempt to tell a story through multiplayer matches. It's an interesting concept and the action does look fantastic- besides the Titans your human characters are quite agile and can get around the map with ease. The idea of a number of giant mechs slugging it out while people scamper around under and over them is insanely thrilling.
This trailer reveal completes the Titan section on Titanfall's official site, although they promise to keep updating the page with new info about the three different classes. Titanfall will hit on March 11th for Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
