Though many fans think that he did it out of frustrations caused by Golden Globe Awards snub, maybe...just maybe, he and the writers are up to something. What will happen to his character? Will he be on hiatus or someone is set to fill his chair as he officially exits from the show?
"Power" Season 4, The Golden Snub
It was a shock for "Power" Season 4 fans to not see their favorite Starz original series in Golden Globe Awards. Many thought that maybe the show must pull it off to the next level while some viewers see this as a personal attack.
Golden Globe Awards is one of the most prestigious award-giving bodies like Emmy Awards and Academy Awards, so making to the list is a big thing. However, not all high-rated shows can be part of the list. Many top-rated series were snub before but these shows prove that awards are just additional prizes, what's important is how your show affected most of the viewers and "Power" Season 4 won on that part.
But, like what other fans have been expressing, 50 Cent is nowhere near happy also as he revealed his disappointment by ranting on his Instagram. Not only that, he also gave an ultimatum that he wants his character, Kanan, to die in "Power" Season 4. This is all because of Golden Globe Awards.
50 Cent bravely called out the award giving body, "Golden Globe's can suck a d**k." Adding on, he also admitted that he embraced the fact that "Power" Season 4 is not after being a signature television show for Starz, but he also pointed out that "it is the highest rated show" in the network.
Floyd Mayweather to Replace 50 Cent in "Power" Season 4
Following his rant on Instagram, 50 Cent called out the attention of Floyd Mayweather Jr. He opened the idea that the boxer should be part of "Power" Season 4. But here's what the fans are dying to know; is he a new character or a replacement?
In 50 Cent two Instagram posts, he already demanded his character's exit and Floyd Mayweather as a replacement for his character. Since he declared that "[he] is off the "Power" train", maybe the showrunners might consider adding the boxing champ. But if they followed the rapper's idea, Kanan might have a poor story arc finale. Killing him off or just kicking him out in "Power" Season 4 will definitely make fans disappointed.
As of writing, it is still unconfirmed if the showrunners of "Power" Season 4 will consider 50 Cent's idea, but since Floyd Mayweather is open to being in the series, maybe we will get to see a new badass character in the series.
