What next-gen console outsold the other during their November release may be the giant news item at this point in the week, but what about the games? Well, NPD has information on that too.
The infamous Geoff Keighley tweeted the group's list, which found that multi-platform titles are indeed the most popular games during this blustery month, particularly first-person shooters. Call of Duty: Ghosts was the cock of the walk. No surprise there, as gigantic sales numbers are a contributing factor to the game being the most played multiplayer title in the world.
Despite the various bugs and glitches that EA is currently working on, Battlefield 4 is close behind Ghosts at the number two spot. Surprising, as while Ghosts has had its share of updates, Battlefield 4 has been downright plagues with issues. Things were so bad that EA issued an order to halt all work on the game's future DLC, projects, and brought in additional staff to fix the remaining issues. More recently, one law firm seems to be readying itself for a lawsuit against EA for the company allegedly duping investors. It was recently announced that another patch for the Xbox One version was delayed, but would come with the next Title Update.
Meanwhile, Ghosts is jingling bells, getting ready for some Christmas-time chaos. Festive new DLC is now available that can turn your dog into a vicious wolf, or transform your gun with some truly horrendous looking Christmas sweater camo.
Today also marks "Extinction Day," so named because it begins a Double XP Weekend for the game's extinction mode.

Call of Duty: Ghosts takes place in a near future following an attack from space that leaves Los Angeles virtually wiped out, and the United States' infrastructure devastated. Years later, the country is invaded by a new superpower, a conglomerate of South American nations calling itself the "Federation." What's left of America's special forces have come together to form the titular "Ghosts," and it's up to them to wage guerrilla warfare against the Federation in order to protect what remains of the United States, and drive the Federation out.
Beyond the campaign, the game's multiplayer mode, which promises a slew of different customization options for weapons, character camos, and more. Over 30 new weapons are included alongside old favorites like the UMP45 and the M4A1.
Despite not the best reviews ever for a Call of Duty game, Ghosts was a hit right out of the gate. The game is out now for PC, PS3 and PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and Nintendo's Wii U.
