First Alien Isolation Screenshots Leak

First Look- In-Game Screens From Alien Isolation

On Twitter last night four new screenshots from Alien: Isolation leaked. There's no aliens in sight just yet, which is in fitting with what we've heard of the game so far. This is no Aliens Vs. Predator title with you playing an unstoppable marine, you're play a character who's all alone and presumably with no military training whatsoever. The reason for that is because the main character is Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver in the films). Who knows what she's doing out there in space - looking for her mother?- but whatever the reason she's likely going to regret the trip.

The screens show off some excellent lighting and plenty of familiar objects. Check out the space suits, which are identical to the one Ripley wore in the first Alien film.

Then there's the most famous piece of equipment from the franchise, the motion tracker. You knew they coulldn't leave this one out. That familiar clicking and beeping has been used to great effect in previous Alien games so expect no less this time, especially when the creature can apparently kill you so easily. There are no blips on the radar just yet, at least.

And here's a nice look at the amount of detail in the game. Love that they still have that 70's vision of the future in place. Check out the old keyboard and the "Vehicles of Yesterday" article in what appears to be a magazine. (Kids, they used to have things called "magazines" that people manufactured out of dead trees. Ask your parents!)

Note one thing you don't see in any of these pictures is guns. While it's silly to think that the traditional Alien weapons like the pulse rifle and flamethrower won't make an appearance, it's comforting to think that they're focusing on scares here. It's really what the series needs.

On Monday two pieces of Alien Isolation art leaked and I've heard about an Alien Isolation event that took place last week, so I'm not really buying that all of these are "leaks". Sega isn't officially commenting on them or that corned about them so it seems part of the marketing plan for the games. Expect to hear much more about this title as soon as the embargos lift!
