Following reports that Chloe Kardashian's divorce against retired National Basketball Association basketball cager Lamar Odom finalizes on December 17, the 2011 NBA Sixth Man of the Year awardee checked himself into a rehabilitation center. According to reports, the former basketball star for Los Angeles Lakers made the decision on his own.
A source spoke to media confirming that the former Laker submitted himself into a rehab center in San Diego, California, on his own volition as part of his fresh start plan. It was said that Odom understands the significance of being sober.
"He wanted to work on his mental and physical health for the next chapter of his life," E! Online quoted a source as saying, "He has not fallen off the wagon," the source continued. Also, reports suggested that Lamar is not without a home. And now that his marriage to Chloe has already been ordered severed by December, Odom is determined to staying sober and to tread on a straight path. He allegedly looks forward to being a father.
Odom's decision to seek professional help came more than a year after he experienced a life-and-death overdose inside a brothel in Las Vegas. At the time of overdose, Chloe Kardashian divorce has already been filed against him 2 years earlier, but due to the unexpected overdose incident involving Odom, Chloe withdrew her petition for divorce. The state Lama was in at that time was such that immediate medical treatment required a spousal consent. The six-feet 10-inch former professional player was adjudged by his doctors to only have four hours to live.
His survival was described as a miracle, following his transfer to a rehabilitation center. However, notwithstanding the divorce withdrawal, Chloe clarified the two did not reconcile. Odom himself, after his recovery and discharge seemed to have not had enough as he suffered some setbacks. Lamar and Chloe do not have any children.
