After living over 30 years with Super Mario world, Nintendo decided a revival of the famous platform video games with Apple as its partner of choice. Super Mario run is slated for iPhone and iPad release on December 15.
In an interview with Glixel, Super Mario creator and Nintendo head Shigeru Miyamoto said the highly anticipated comeback of Super Mario via mobile platform was exclusively presented to Apple. He believed that the Cupertino tech giant would be able to deliver the performance and the development support they envisioned for the game.
The Nintendo official said he believed that Apple would be a good partner in achieving towards their common goals in bringing simple products to their users amid technical complexities. This amid Microsoft's revelation of the possibility of an Xbox and Nintendo crossover after the success of their Minecraft project.
He also believed that Apple and Nintendo have similarities on product development, thinking on how people will use their products. He pointed out that both Nintendo and Apple put a lot of efforts in making their games and devices easy to use while sporting the simplest design possible.
He also commended of Apple's focus on simplicity while adding that the Cupertino company always take the users into account. He said Apple always makes their devices easy to use and then having an environment that's safe and secure that people can work and play in.
"They're the areas where Nintendo and Apple really see eye to eye," he pointed out.
Super Mario Run will be available for iOS devices starting December 15. Nintendo and Apple Store will offer a demo version for Super Mario fans to test the game while its full version is unlockable for $9.99. However, the game will not be playable offline as it needs an always-on internet connection for security purposes.
