WWE Rumors: John Cena possibly leaving WWE soon? 'SNL' success opens door to more movie roles

John Cena is still the face of the WWE despite being absent on television for most of the year. He recently hosted "Saturday Night Live" and it could lead to more Hollywood roles which put his WWE career in jeopardy.

The 15-time WWE world champion was very funny in his "SNL" hosting gig. The show was mediocre but it put Cena in a great position to succeed Hollywood. It should be noted that The Rock got his big break after hosting "SNL" back in 2000.

Cena got his breakthrough last year with roles in hit films "Trainwreck" and "Sisters." There is widespread speculation that he might miss more time next year now that he is getting offers left and right. He is set to star in a comedy film titled "The Pact" in 2017.

According to Alfred Konuwa of Forbes, Cena's WWE career is on borrowed time since more roles will be on his way. It puts the WWE in a tough position but they can always use the 39-year-old in a part-time role.

There were several reports last month stating that John Cena was unhappy with how much the WWE is paying part-timers like Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. There is also a big chance that Cena would like to get what he deserves from the WWE while also taking roles in mainstream movies.

Despite the fear of the company not having Cena for most of the year, the plans for him at WrestleMania 33 is already set. He will resume his feud with A.J. Styles for the WWE championship next year, per Cageside Seats.

The story of that is going to focus on Cena winning his 16th WWE title to tie Ric Flair's record. Nevertheless, the WWE have to be ready for the time when Cena leaves wrestling for Hollywood. The company already has their next big superstar in Roman Reigns but he has not gotten over with the crowd.
