Since the most recent installment of the "Harry Potter" franchise gained a lot of success, there is a lot of excitement for the upcoming sequel. Fans are eager to learn more about the new characters presented, especially Leta Lestrange, in the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them 2."
Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, was introduced to the big screens as he explored Manhattan in search for his misplaced creatures. Fans were pleased with Redmayne's performance, creating a lot of hype for "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them 2." Though he was successful in obtaining his lost creatures, Scamander also presented some unanswered mysteries that left viewers curious about the current wizarding world.
When it was presented that Scamander had a past with a character named Leta Lestrange, played by Zoe Kravitz, many were excited to know more about their history. Fans of "Harry Potter" are familiar with the notorious Lestrange family, which is why Leta's presence in Scamander's life plays a mysterious role in the story. Fortunately, the director of the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them 2," David Yates, explained that the new film will shed more light about Leta. "Yes. Leta Lestrange comes into the second movie. She's quite complicated and damaged and confused, and Newt is absolutely still in love with her. So, she has a kind of power over him, and she, yeah, she's a kind of tragic figure, so we will see a bit more of her in the second movie," he said during an interview with Cinema Blend.
According to Telegraph, though there was little information given about Leta, it is possible that she is related to the despicable Bellatrix Lestrange (Helen Bonham Carter), the character from the "Harry Potter" series who brought a lot of sadness to the rest of the group. Some speculate that Leta is actually Bellatrix's mother, which means that "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them 2" could present some insight on the history of the Lestrange family.
