In addition, a lot of the characters were faced with challenges that could present changes for "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 mid-season premiere.
Kevin McKidd explained that the mid-season finale of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will set up a lot of questions for the return of the series. "Coupled with all this strife that's happened in the hospital, and specifically for my character, it's a pretty tense and dramatic episode. I think people are going to love it and it's going to leave some very pressing questions unanswered...There's a lot that happens in this episode that shifts the game and changes things for many people in the hospital," he explained about "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 mid-season premiere during an interview with Variety.
However, fans are also concerned about what the "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 mid-season premiere will present for Meredith, played by Ellen Pompeo. Though she has been the central character of the series, some viewers have voiced out their concerns regarding her storyline. According to some Reddit users, Meredith's storyline is already overused, and presents no development anymore.
Because of that, fans are hoping to see less of Meredith in the upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 mid-season premiere. Instead, there are expectations for the second half of the season to put more focus on the other characters of the series.
