Reports are saying that "Wayward Pines" Season 3 would be airing in 2017, giving rise to the show's hype. However, another news would surely delight the fans of the mystery show, as it is predicted to have a crossover with another hit show "Stranger Things."
Low Ratings Doom the Show?
There have been recent rumors that were causing confusion on whether "Wayward Pines" Season 3 would be pushing through or not. Some of the reports said that the drastic decline in ratings caused both the producers and the network to drop the show. "Wayward Pines" Season 1 clocked in a total of 3.8 million viewers, while the second season garnered only 2.4 million.
As for "Wayward Pines" Season 3, however, the production team are predicting to have an increased viewership ratings of up to 3.5 million, including DVR viewers. Some reports are predicting that this is the figure that "Wayward Pines" Season 3 have to meet to go on.
Reports have also said that show director and producer M. Night Shyamalan, along with show creator Chad Hodge, is already negotiating with Fox for the continuation of "Wayward Pines" Season 3. However, the network has released no official confirmation yet regarding the show.
"Stranger Things" Crossover
To help pull up the ratings of "Wayward Pines" Season 3, the third installment of the show is allegedly going to have a crossover with another hit series in more or less the same genre. There have been reports saying that "Wayward Pines" Season 3 will be crossing over with "Stranger Things" Season 2.
Fans of the two series are absolutely delighted by the news of the crossover. With this, however, they have been wondering how the two shows would incorporate each other. There is one huge caveat to this speculation though-the different networks they are in. "Wayward Pines" Season 3 would be airing in Fox, while "Stranger Things" Season 2 would air in Netflix.
As of yet, there has been no official word from either network regarding the said crossover. However, if "Wayward Pines" Season 3 and "Stranger Things" Season 2 indeed produces a crossover episode, then fans would definitely be in for a treat.
