Ultra Street Fighter 4 News: Capcom Shows Off Super and Ultra Combos for Hugo [VIDEO]

New Trailer Shows Hugo Primed to Pummel Pugilists in Ultra Street Fighter IV

Andre the Giant may be long gone from this world, but Capcom is ensuring the gargantuan grappler's legacy by bringing his Final Fight homage, Hugo, back into the world of Street Fighter. The developer has released some videos showing the newcomers' combos that will be hitting when Ultra Street Fighter 4 arrives next year, and Capcom Unity has posted them on YouTube so everyone can have a look.

Like many of the other Street Fighters set to return in Ultra, we first saw Hugo, or as we was known then, Andore, in the aforementioned side-scrolling beat 'em up that helped Capcom rule the arcades. While many of that game's heros and villains alike would see themselves become playable SF characters in the Alpha series (Guy, Cody, Sodom, Rolento), gamers would have to wait until Street Fighter III before they could play as Hugo.

Of the returning fighters coming to Ultra, at a monolithic 8ft tall, Hugo the brute of the bunch, while the others are rather light on their feet. Much like he was during his Street Fighter III debut, Hugo's slow speed makes him not the best choice for combos. Instead, he deals out damage with very strong attacks. Given his large size, he's able to soak up a lot of damage then most other fighters.

His Super Arts from SFIII, Hammer Frenzy, Gigas Breaker, and Megaton Press all return in Ultra, but it's the Megaton Press that seems the be the most over the top. It also promises a rough lesson to anyone that favors jumping attacks, showing that fighting by air may not be the best method to try to take Hugo down. Check it out in the video below.

While these videos are great, there's still no word on the identity of that brand new fighter. All we have to go on is what Capcom Senior Product manager Matt Dahlgren told the Jace Hall Show: "This character [has] never been featured in a Street Fighter game up until now." Ultra Street Fighter 4 "will be the first time he (or she) makes their fighting game debut." That would rule out a great number of Capcom's other characters who've appeared in countless cross over games, like X-Men Vs Capcom, Marvel Vs Capcom, etc.

So while it's entirely possible that it's a brand new character, the chances are also good the character could be a familiar face (fingers crossed for someone from the beat 'em ups Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, or Alien vs. Predator, if only for the chance it could mean a possible port for either game on PSN or Xbox Live). We'll just have to wait and see.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 will release in two forms, with the player picking whichever they like:

1. As a $15 DLC upgrade - choose this route if you already have a copy of Street Fighter 4. With the price breakdown, it means you get each new character at $3 each.
2. As an all-new physical release, on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Besides the new characters, players will also get six new stages, all of which featured in Street Fighter X Tekken: Cosmic Elevator, Mad Gear Hideout, Jurassic Era Research Facility, Blast Furnace, and Pitstop 109.

Capcom recently announced that players could expect the game in Spring of next year.

If you wanna take a look at the other fighters, you'll spy the articles with the videos back at the main page.
