Many fans expressed great disappointment after learning Thomas Gibson was fired from "Criminal Minds" season 12. Last Wednesday, the CBS crime-drama series introduced a Gibson's replacement only to receive backlash from its followers. Now, they are calling for Gibson to return to the show.
'Criminal Minds' Season 12: Say Hello To Damon Gupton
While Thomas Gibson was able to film a couple of episodes of "Criminal Minds" season 12, many fans felt his absence throughout the entire season. To make up for this, the CBS crime-drama series has decided to introduce a new character, hoping to fill the gap left by Gibson's departure, per Cinema Blend.
Making his debut last Wednesday's episode of "Criminal Minds" season 12, Damon Gupton was introduced as the newest member of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), which Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner (Gibson) used to be chief. Gupton will portray Stephen Walker, a seasoned profiler in the BAU department. Meanwhile, Emily Prentiss will continue to head the BAU unit.

However, "Criminal Minds" season 12 received major backlash from fans after learning who replaced their beloved Hotch. Many fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment over the course of things. Some of them are calling for their Hotch back, else they boycott the show.
#NoHatchNoWatch
In the official Facebook page of "Criminal Minds," many fans clamored for the return of Gibson. Using the hashtag #NoHotchNoWatch, fans are threatening to boycott the show if Gibson won't return to the series. However, there are those who seemed open to the changes and hopes that the series will continue to grow together with the new characters.
Gibson was fired earlier this year after an on-set altercation with a writer-producer. According to E! Online, Gibson allegedly kicked Virgil Williams during an on-set altercation causing him to lose his job. There wasn't a big splash with his exit from "Criminal Minds" season 12 as well adding more despair to what fans already feel.
