When "Once Upon a Time" Season 6 returns to the small screens, viewers will get to see several familiar faces but acting differently from their normal selves. Latest spoiler news teased of Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) meeting in the wish realm, however, the sea captain will be very different from his Storybrooke version.
The midseason 6 finale of "Once Upon a Time" featured an alternate reality of The Enchanted Forest following a wish made by the Evil Queen's (Lana Parrilla) from the street rat turned genie Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz). By asking Aladdin to grant Emma's wish not to become a Savior, a wish she made fleetingly, the Storybrooke protector was transported to another world.
Dubbed as the wish realm, the mysterious world featured beloved characters living slightly different lives. In the said realm, Emma appears to be a meek princess to an older version of Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas).
A deceased character namely Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) also appeared in the wish realm. However, the said character will be different from the Robin Hood that Regina (Parrilla) knew and loved while at Storybrooke.
In the upcoming episodes of "Once Upon a Time" Season 6, Emma and the wish-realm version of Hook will also have a chance to meet each other. Showrunner Eddy Kitsis shared in an interview with TV Guide that it is one of the scenes that he is most excited to see in Season 6.
However, Kitsis did not disclose details about Emma and Hook's encounter in the second half of "Once Upon a Time" Season 6. Story speculations indicated that the wish-realm Hook will be more of a pirate than the reformed man that Emma fell in love with at Storybrooke.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Adam Horowitz also mentioned how the wish realm gave them a chance to revisit beloved characters and "do new spins on them." He added, "There's different changes for different characters for different reasons, and that's the beauty of the wish realm."
