After several reports of the iPhone 6S shutting down unexpectedly, Apple has now admitted that there are issues regarding the battery for the iPhone 6S. Apple has been forced to admit the issue of the iPhone 6S after China's Consumer Association gave them a stark warning together with some Chinese users who pressured the company.
The iPhone 6S manufacturers also blamed the "ambient air" as the cause for the battery shutdown. "We found that a small number of iPhone 6S devices made in September and October 2015 contained a battery component that was exposed to controlled ambient air longer than it should have been before being assembled into battery packs," said Apple in a statement in their Chinese Website.
"We take every customer concern very seriously, including the limited number of reports of unexpected shutdown with iPhones. We also want to thank the agencies for forwarding concerns to us and their engagement with us," said Apple in a statement. Forbes reported that Apple has found a small amount of customers who were dealing the "30 percent bug" that causes the iPhone 6S to shut down when there is only 30 percent battery remaining.
Apple has set a battery replacement program worldwide for the iPhone 6s and are also arranging a diagnostic tool to obtain more date for them to find a solution in the upcoming update according to V3. The iPhone 6S users can get the replacement batteries for free while the iPhone 6 Plus users has to pay $149 to get the problem solved.
Aside from Apple's iPhone 6S, it seems that consumers are also experiencing some major problems on their iPhone 6 plus where are encountering glitches on their screen, which they call the "Touch Disease". The "30 percent bug" are also rampant in other iPhones that were released over the last 4 years from iPhone SE, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5.
