Jay Garrick will return in the midseason episodes of "The Flash" Season 3. John Wesley Shipp confirmed the midseason finale is not the last fans will see of the Earth 3 speedster.
John Wesley Shipp, who plays Jay Garrick, rarely appeared in the first half of "The Flash" Season 3. However, this is going to change going into the second half of the season. The actor assured that he will be more involved in the midseason episodes.
Shipp told Comic Book Resources that he will "figure in more prominently" in the second half of "The Flash" Season 3. His appearance in the midseason finale was just the start. Fans should expect to see him back on Earth 1 to help Barry Allen deal with more evil metahumans and more speedster problems.
Likewise, John Wesley Shipp teased that Jay Garrick will be around more often to mentor the young speedster. Given how the midseason finale of "The Flash" Season 3 ended, it is clear that the Golden Age Flash will return to Earth 1 more often.
To recap, the midseason finale of "The Flash" Season 3 saw the God of Speed (speaking through Julian Albert) deliver a grim prophecy. He told the team that someone from the group will betray them. Savitar also mentioned the death of someone close to Barry Allen. Lastly, the villain speedster said Barry will experience something far worse than death.
Clearly, someone's death and the betrayal will become a major problem for Barry. However, the return of Savitar will likely prompt Jay Garrick to return to Earth 1.The midseason finale of "The Flash" Season 3 hinted that Savitar will be back, even though Barry and Jay left the Philosopher's Stone in the Speed Force. Barry saw Savitar in the future, which means that somehow, someone manages to bring him back from the Speed Force.
