In the previous episode of "The Flash" Season 3, the fate of Team Flash doesn't seem to be in the proper direction. The team has suffered severe cases of betrayal and deaths. It seems that the team will suffer an appalling fate in the upcoming episodes. Barry will not only be betrayed by one of his loyalists but also lose the person he loves the most.
The fall finale of "The Flash" Season 3 on December 6 revealed that Savitar is some version of "future Flash" and he's come back to take something that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) had taken from him. Speaking through Julian Albert (Tom Felton), Savitar warned Team Flash with a prophecy that one member would betray the team, one would fall and one would suffer a fate worse than death.
This is the second time Barry has gotten a warning from the future. Barry continues to feel the consequences of changing the timeline in "The Flash" Season 3. As for who might betray the team, rumors are gleaning towards H.R. and Caitlin. Fans hope Savitar wasn't talking about Iris when he said someone would die.
Barry for the first time in "The Flash" Season 3, ran so fast that he knocked himself into the five-month future. He witnessed the horrifying scene he never imagined would happen - Savitar stabbing Iris (Candice Patton) through the heart. Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp) was able to pull Barry back to the present. Barry, so desperate to do anything to stop this from happening, was reminded by Jay that the future changes with every decision we make -- but Barry won't be able to shake that image from his mind.
Iris is Barry's love interest and he can't bear the thought of anything happening to her. Barry cannot stand to watch another loved one be killed at the hands of a speedster after the deaths of his mom and dad. With this five-month time restriction only to save Iris, fans are expecting intense encounters of Barry's and Savitar in the next episode of "The Flash" Season3. This is going to be a huge time-traveling test for Barry. If Jay hadn't pulled Barry back into the speed force, who knows what he could have done to the timeline.
For the time being Barry is heeding Jay's advice-- to embrace the present. But if he can't find a way to change the future, then Iris will be the one to fall and losing his soulmate would be a fate worse than death for Barry in the next episodes of "The Flash" Season 3.
