Another player has emerged in the competitive world of the smartphone industry. The latest revelation on the ZUK Edge has drawn a lot of consumer interest following the leaks of the phone's possible hardware and features.
With teasers of the smartphone's final form and live images, the Lenovo-owned company revealed that the ZUK Edge will be finally launched this week; more specifically on December 7. According to NDTV, ZUK CEO Chang Cheng announced last week that the phone will finally be unveiled on the second week of December.
The former Lenovo vice-president has also sent invites for the ZUK Edge's December 7 launch that would reveal much of the phone's pricing and specifics. Moreover, ZUK has been awarded with the TENAA certification for the Edge's sale, an agency that certifies the sale of electronics in China.
ZUK Edge Specs, Release Date & Latest Updates: What We Know So Far
Despite being branded as the ZUK "Edge", the latest leaked images do not show a curved screen like Samsung's S7 Edge. The ZUK Edge is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Chipset that runs a quad-core (2x2.35 Ghz kryo & 2x1.6 Ghz kryo) CPU. The latest phone from ZUK also sports an Adreno 530 GPU and further leaks have hinted the phone to run on the new Nougat v7.0 Android OS.
It is possible that ZUK Edge will also feature a 5.5-inch 1080p capacitive touchscreen with a 401 ppi pixel density. The smartphone will also be equipped with a standard 13 megapixel main shooter that is backed up by an 8 megapixel front camera.
According to rumors, the phone will be marketed at a price of 2,699 Yuan or $300. As for most of the speculation regarding the new phone, GSMArena, has released a disclaimer that does not guarantee the information on the ZUK Edge. We will have to wait for December 7's launch to know more of the phone's details.
