The Red Bull BC One 2016 has surely paved the stage once again for the best breakdancers in the world thus far, and as expected, the event did not fail to deliver. That being said, some of the best sets ever were witnessed in the prestigious event to crown this year's champion.
Held in Nagoya, Japan, the Red Bull BC One 2016 collected 16 b-boys from over 12 different countries to duel in the annual event. Some of the most recognizable names in the industry battled out to qualify, giving everything they have to advance in the said tournament.
The official site of Red Bull showed just what the world's best b-boys will go through to be bestowed the honor of the Red Bull BC One 2016 Champion. Some of which include United States representative B-boy Victor, who went up against Japan's own, B-boy Nori. The other countries that participated showed the likes of B-boy Soso from France and B-boy Bruce Almighty from Portugal, pitting up against B-boy Neguin from Brazil. Apart from Nori, the "turtle swipe" innovator B-boy Taisuke was also seen in the competition against Korean legend B-boy Hong 10.
However, the climax of the night came as B-boy Hong 10 reached the finals and went up against the competition underdog, 19-year-old B-boy Issei. A win from either one is expected to create history in the industry, given that B-boy Hong 10 will claim his third win in the annual competition, whereas B-boy Issei will give Japan a win after 13 years. Both b-boys brought everything they had on the floor, but the prodigy B-boy Issei was the one that emerged victorious after a close call of 3 judges against 2 and was dubbed the Red Bull BC One 2016 Champion.
For a little bit of added information, B-boy Issei started breakdancing at the age of six, carrying over his hobbies to his teen years. B-boy Hong 10 has been known the world over for his unique style and masterful use of the Halo Freeze, giving him the wins he much deserved in the past years.
