Samsung Galaxy S5 is slated to get new security patch specifically the units that have been sold unlocked in Europe. Other fixes for exposures and vulnerabilities are also believed to come with the security update. In the meantime, a more powerful phone is slated to be delivered as part of the Galaxy S series.
It is said that the Samsung Galaxy S5 has already been left behind in terms of OS Updates. Apparently, Google has already launched the new Android 7.1.1 update as well as a new December security update on the Pixel and Nexus phones. However, Samsung has also issued older security patches with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and other older phones, GSM Arena reported.
On that note, Samsung is reportedly still delivering security fixes and updates on the Samsung Galaxy S5. On the contrary, the tech company may have ceased from delivering new Android versions to the older handset in the series. The update has already been launched in the Netherlands, Poland and Germany and in other European countries. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has reportedly received dozens of fixes. In addition, Samsung is also believed to have a fix for 14 problems in the Samsung Galaxy S5 software layers.
In other news, the Samsung Galaxy S5 was known to be the most powerful phone launched in 2014. However, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge reportedly showed signs that the company may need to roll out several more changes for its phone lineup. Furthermore, the expected changes was also believed to be more adamant with the S7 Edge, according to report.
Samsung Galaxy S5, however, has been noted to feature the most crisp screen and best optics. However, Samsung's software has reportedly taken a step back.
