Westworld writer Halley Gross will be the co-writer "The Last of Us: Part 2." Game director Neil Druckman has confirmed the news as he posted it on Twitter and described Halley as "my kickass co-writer."
According to a recent Forbes report, Naughty Dog is planning huge transformation in the "The Last of Us 2." The speculation is that Ellie will no more be the protagonist and that Joel will take over as the central character in the gameplay. While some fans might be excited to know the new changes in the game, some might not be happy enough to lose Ellie.
"The Last of Us 2" Updates: Speculations Say Playable Lead Will Change
"The Last of Us 2" is a sequel of a popular game but is now expected to come with new transformations, which will likely make the new version a completely reversed game. The predictions of the game's change of protagonist have come following the release of short-spanned teases that shows Joel in the major portions. However, the reports of Joel taking the center stage in the gameplay might just be a rumor.
The media outlet further states that in the sequel "The Last of Us 2" that Joel is dead and the entire game is all about vengeful Ellie. Gamers will see Joel's "grief host" in the game. The teasers do show a Joel who is not alive but a "spirit." Hence, don't be mistaken; it is Ellie who will continue to be a playable lead in the next sequel. She will seek revenge for the death of the supporting character, who has been killed by unidentified enemies.
With a new writer comes a new script that will possibly make "The Last of Us 2" more adventurous and thrilling, Gamespot mentions. "Can't wait to share more of the story with y'all. Spoiler alert: it's intense," Druckmann tweeted while introducing his co-writer for the game series.
