It looks like best of MMA of TV will have their world's collide. Rumors suggest that UFC's Conor McGregor is scheduled to make an apperance in "Game of Thrones" season 7.
A picture posted on the Instagram account of Sunday Life magazine features the magazine's front page of their next issue. One the titles on the front pages says "UFC hero McGregor to star alongside thrones beauties." Conor McGregor is not the first time "Game of Thrones" had a guest star who is not an actor to make an appearance for the show. It seems that Conor McGregor will be the first rumored to be part of "Game of Thrones" season 7.
Several musicians have in fact appeared in some of the episodes of "Game of Thrones". These musicians include thrash metal group Mastodon, Icelandic band Sigur Ros and Coldplay's drummer have all been part of "Game of Thrones." If rumors are true, Conor McGregor will be the first MMA fighter to appear on and possibly the biggest celebrity to appear on "Game of Thrones" season 7.
But what separates Conor McGregor from these celebrities is his connection to the "Game of Thrones" lore. Hafthor Julius Bjornsson who plays Gregor Clegane, or The Mountain in "Game of Thrones" was involved in a friendly sparring match between Conor McGregor. The Mountain is an imposing character in the "Game of Thrones" series responsible for the deaths of several characters including Obreyn Martell in which Gregor literally crushed Oberyn's skull with his bear hands. Conor McGregor claimed that he defeated the 6-foot-9 400 pound Hafthor. Hafthor on the other hand said that he was taking it easy since he didn't he want to injure Conor McGregor and miss his upcoming fight. So if rumors are true fans might see a rematch of the two in "Game of Thrones" season 7 and decide who the better fighter is.
Ever the savvy businessman, Conor McGregor is already looking for options beyond MMA. Conor McGregor was previously linked to star in XXX 3: The Return of Xander Cage but declined so Conor McGregor can focus on fighting. His other entertainment pursuits include starring Call of Duty's Infinite Warfare story trailer and a guest on Conan o Brien. If proven true, Conor McGregor's appearance in "Game of Thrones" season 7 will be the first TV appearance for the Notorious in 2017.
