"iPhone"' Latest News & Updates : Find Out How Can Checking Your iPhone Chargers Saves Your Life

iPhone users know how fragile the Apple Lightning Charger is. You could put five rolls of electric tape yet you can find it broken the next day. Yes, it could be a pain in the wallet if you will buy authentic chargers every time it will break. The question is, is it safe?

Investigators put the counterfeit chargers on test by buying 400 pieces of different lightning cable around the world over the internet with different suppliers. It came down to a quality check, and among all of the 400 chargers, 397 failed. Lord Toby Harris, chairman of Trading Standards, said that convicts across the world are using internet platforms to lure you in with low-cost deals for mock items, many of which are risky and have been known to overheat and cause house fires.

Yet, a little bit too late, an incident of house burning happened. A man bought a counterfeit charger for 10 dollars to have a different color from his wife to avoid confusion. Three weeks later, the 10 dollar caused disaster, the man left the charger in socket for hours, and the phone is unplugged. It resulted with explosion and fire, in good news the man was able to kill the fire start up.

Don't be a cheapskate. A knock off charger costs around 2 dollars to 10 dollars, which depends on sassy how you would like it to look, while the original Apple Lightning Cable costs around 20 to 30 dollars. Sparing few bucks for an authentic would probably be worth it, the stakes are high. You don't want to end up saving 15 dollars for a legit charger, then having your home eaten by fire.

In order to be safe from buying, you could always check the label, markings and instructions, that usual counterfeit items do not have. Gillian Guy, Chief Executive of Citizen Advice said that counterfeit products are likely to appear in low and poor quality. He also said that it could be seen on tell-tale signs of counterfeiting, like 'typographical' errors on brand name, knock-off logos and misconducted safety marks.
