iPhone users may be experiencing unexpected shutdown in certain circumstances like in extreme weather conditions or a bug on their phones. Apparently, as Apple explained, the phones were designed with self-protective measures that could include shutting down without notice.
Apple recently launched a free battery replacement program for several iPhone 6s users with Sept. to Oct. 2015 handsets. Furthermore, Apple also explained on a Chinese support site that the affected devices contain a battery component that was apparently exposed to ambient air for a prolonged time. Hence, the batteries may degrade faster and may result in unexpected shutdowns.
However, Apple also reaffirmed that the iPhone 6s battery issue was unlike the safety issue of the Note 7. Furthermore, Apple also discussed that iPhone handsets that shut down in extreme cold temperatures may be a sign of self-protective measures. Apparently, this was the way the iPhone was designed--to automatically shutdown under certain conditions, Trusted Reviews reported.
The company further explained that the iPhone handsets were designed to remain to protect the electronics inside from low voltage. However, Apple has not left its affected users with no help. Previous to the battery replacement initiative, Apple also offered to repair devices affected by a so-called Touch Disease Flaw for $149. Note that several iPhone 6 Plus users have noted flickering displays and degradation of display sensitivity.
In other news, the iPhone has reportedly revolved from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone 7 in a span of 3 years. Previously, the iPhone 6 began with an 8MP camera but the most recent predecessors have been garbed with a 12MP shooter. The iPhone 7 has also been noted to pack the OIS, Phone Arena reported.
iPhone also recently jumped on the 4K bandwagon by adding 4K video support on its latest flagship phones. In addition, where the iPhone 6 and 6s sported Dual LED flash, the iPhone 7 packs the Quad LED flash. Apple is expected to push its handsets further to sport 21MP in the future.
