Moto 360 launch has reportedly been delayed by the Illinois-based company. Apparently, the smartwatch market has reportedly been noted as a weak market by Motorola. However, the company is said to be waiting for the Smartwatch gears to progress more significantly in the market before launching the Moto 360.
It has been noted that the second-generation Moto 360 is still rooted in steel. On the other hand, the Moto 360 has already been waiting launch for 15 months. On this note, a Motorola Executive allegedly confirmed that the company will not be releasing a new smartwatch anytime in the nearest future.
Furthermore, Motorola Head of Global Product Development Shakil Barat reportedly noted that the Moto 360 is not being pursued at the moment. Apparently, the company does not see enough pull in the market for a new smartwatch at this time. In addition, Barat also revealed that wearables do not have enough appeal on the company to be built on year after year, Android Police reported.
In addition, the Motorola Executive further added that wearables would not be included in the annual device roadmap of the company. This will reportedly include the smartwatch line such as the Moto 360. On the contrary, the Executive did mention that should the smartwatch game progress more in the market, then Motorola may return to making smartwatches like Moto 360.
In other news, the Moto 360 was reportedly not focused on during the Motorola Press Event held in Chicago earlier this week. Instead, the company reportedly leaned more on modular phones. Apparently, there may be a lack of broad appeal for the wearables, TechCrunch reported.
Moto 360 has been noted as the best piece of hardware to adopt the Smartwatch OS. On the contrary, companies like Samsung have already abandoned such proprietary software. Moreover, the delay of the Wear 2.0 has reportedly further decreased the interest for wearables in the market. Hence, the next generation Moto 360 may still be released in public but not this year or the next. Watch the Apple Watch vs Moto 360 here:
