Total War: Rome 2 is set to get even better this week. According to reports, Creative Assembly has announced that it will release the first update tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 6.
The new update for the game is said to address a number of crashes and graphical issues, in addition to adding some much needed tweaks to AI routines, which dealt with so much criticism at the launch of the title, which were criticized at the game’s release.
“At Creative Assembly we are very pleased with the response to ROME II, with hundreds of thousands of players enjoying the game so far; but we do know that, as with all large PC releases, the variety of hardware and general system specifications can cause issues for some people and we are urgently working to help get them the right experience,” the official Facebook post related to the update states.
“As announced last month, we are also planning to tweak the balancing, AI routines and other features now that we’re getting real-time metric feedback from thousands of players. The result is that the first update to the game will drop this Friday, with the intention to update the game on a weekly basis in the immediate future.”
The team has confirmed that the full patch notes for the new update will be available on Friday, although the primary objective of the update is to “address known instances of crashes due to hardware conflicts alongside several other performance fixes.”
This new update for Total War: Rome 2 is arriving after a host of suggestions for fixes were put up in the team’s support forum. Fixes for single player campaign issues, single player battle issues, compatibility issues, graphics issues, installation issues, audio issues, issues with the multiplayer campaign, multiplayer battles in campaign and multiplayer battles were all suggested.
Total War: Rome 2 is set in classical antiquity whose main campaign begins in 272BC, and lasts for 300 years. Nonetheless, the player also has the option to play further than that, as there are no timed victory conditions in the game.
The campaign map for the game is divided into 173 regions, which are grouped into 57 provinces – including areas from modern day Afghanistan to Portugal.
