The long-running television sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" might be saying goodbye to fans and viewers alike. CBS might pull the plug on "The Big Bang Theory" season 11. A spinoff of the show is currently in development.
Could be the Final Chapter of The Big Bang Theory
The "The Big Bang Theory" is one of the longest running and the highest rated TV shows on CBS. But that isn't an assurance that the series would run for another decade. Who would have thought right?
"The Big Bang Theory" and its comic nerds have been airing on the small screens for a decade now. The show is already on its tenth installment and still there is no word of a renewal to date. This caused fans and viewers to speculate that the show will soon have its final run.
The contracts of cast members are soon to be expiring as well. This proved to be one of the major issues that ignited the cancellation of "The Big Bang Theory". The actors will be offered to sign given how the show proved to be a big success but according to reports, the cast themselves would want to sign.
Despite rumors of season 10 being the last of the series, the comic antiques of "The Big Bang Theory" is expected to continue to season 11. It is slated to air in mid-September of 2017 with all seven main characters. Now fans should be happy about this news.
A Sheldon Cooper Spinoff
Recently, CBS has been looking into the prospect of "The Big Bang Theory" spinoff. According to a report, the spinoff will be a prequel based on Sheldon Cooper. This new series is said to feature a young gifted Sheldon growing up in Texas with a religious mother. As the "The Big Bang Theory" goes on, fans are puzzled how Sheldon Cooper came to be what he is now. This arc may pretty well tell Sheldon's story.
The prequel is tentatively titled, "Sheldon" and is expected to premiere in fall of 2017 if CBS gives it a go. Fans of "The Big Bang Theory" may still get worried, though because if CBS gives "Sheldon" a green light, it might give a red light to the mother show.
