A bunch of berries should respawn on a daily basis under the trees. All the player needs to do is search through the pile to get a free berry or when they're unlucky a Pokemon battle. There is no requirement to unlock these feature and there are several places in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" to find the berry trees. Confirmed locations as of today include Route 2, 3,4,5 8, 10, 16, 17, Poni Wilds, Secluded Shore and the Poni Plains.
Free Berries at the Megamart in "Pokemon Sun and Moon"
Visit the Thrifty Megamart every day to receive free berries from the samples counter. The berry given every day is randomly selected and can be any of the seven berries found in the game namely Sitrus, Bluk, Pinap, Rawst, Mago, and Tamato. To locate the Thrifty Megamart, players need to have access to Royal Avenue which is not too far from the start of the game as it's also within Melemele Island.
Other Berries Found in "Pokemon Sun and Moon"
Aside from berry trees and free berries from the Thrifty Megamart, players will also find a couple of berries when they have learned the ability to fly. This skill is not that hard to find as players just need to follow the story of the game and expect to receive a flying Pokemon added on the ride pager.
