“Minecraft” is one of the rare hits which allows the player to build anything that the imagination has to offer. Its low polygon graphics made possible the creation of a practically seamless world, which rivals in size even the area of our own planet. This freedom made it one of the best-selling games and placed it on a golden throne which has not yet been challenged. Now, Lego is preparing to release its own online game.
Gamespot has announced that “LEGO Worlds” will become available on more platforms. For now, the world building, “Minecraft” like game was only available on the PC through Steam Early Access, but will soon be made available on the PS4 and XBOX One. At the moment, the price tag is set on $15 on the Early Access version of the game, but the final pricing on all three versions is still unknown.
Warner Brothers will release a DLC package for the game called “LEGO Agents” which is inspired by the “LEGO Agents” physical toys series and will be a 90 day PS4 exclusive, after which it will become available on all other supported platforms.
The trailer of the game shows some pretty impressive gameplay. Apparently in “LEGO Wolrds” there will be a single player mode, split-screen and online multiplayer. The whole world will be built from LEGO bricks and players will be able to form it in any way they wish. An interesting concept in the game is the ability to simultaneously place series of bricks with just a move of the cursor which allows for fast build of the repetitive elements in players’ creations.
More details on the future gameplay are shared by IGN. The game is described as "fun to fantastical" adventure where everything is possible. There will be various themes introduced in the game, among them are cowboys, vampires, yetis, racing cars and various different goodies.
The best part of the game is its ability to deliver full LEGO experience in a virtual environment.
The models are identical to their physical counterparts and the adventures delivered in this world will be of LEGO quality.
“LEGO Worlds” will be released in February 2017, so, the world is your oyster.
