'Pokemon Sun and Moon’ Guide: How to Ride a Pokemon in the Game

This article serves as a guide for players who needs help how to ride a Pokemon in the game, "Pokemon Sun and Moon". In this version, players now ride real Pokemon to travel around the region instead of bikes. And just like in every version of the game, players will need to unlock the feature before they can use it.

How to Unlock the Pokemon Ride Page Feature?

In "Pokemon Sun and Moon", the Pokemon Ride Pager can only be unlocked when the player has already defeated Melemele Island's Grand Trial by Kahuna Hala. As soon as the player defeats him, he rewards them with the feature and instantly allows the player to ride in the back of their Pokemon for faster travel.

Once the feature is unlocked, Pokemon Ride Pagers will have a menu screen of its own and players can access it by pressing the button Y. Players can assign up to 4 shortcut key in accessing Pokemon to ride. Players must also take note that Pokemon in the ride page cannot be used in battle or added in the party.

List of Pokemon Allowed For Poke Ride

In "Pokemon Sun and Moon", there are 7 different Pokemon that players can choose from to add on their Poke Ride Pager. The first one is Taurus that players receive after defeating Kahuna Hala. Next is Stoutland given by mallow from the Paniola Rance and followed by Lapras from Captain Lana. Then there is Charizard that players can get after finishing the trial of Captain Kiawe in Wela Volcano Park. This is followed by Sharpedo given as a gift by Grimsley in the last island of the game.

Next is Machamp received in Poni Island's Ancient Poni Path. This Pokemon will be given by the grandmother of Hapu as a gift. Aside from riding, Machamp can also push big stones blocking any path. Last but not the least is Mudsdale which is also given as a gift from Hapu in Ula'ula Island. Aside from riding, it can also be used to walk in rocky paths that are usually not accessible in "Pokemon Sun and Moon".
