The crossover event between The CW's four superhero series featured a single threat, the Dominators. Despite the said alien villains' non-appearance in "Supergirl" Season 2, the Dominators is set to appear in an upcoming episode of the series.
Many fans were disappointed when The CW crossover event did not feature more scenes in Kara's (Melissa Benoist) National City. Also known as Supergirl, the superheroine traveled to another dimension after being requested by Barry (Grant Gustin), a.k.a. the Flash, to help him eradicate an alien threat in his version of Earth.
With the Dominators unleashing their destructive power in Barry's Earth-1, the battle is set to continue in "Arrow" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow." Some viewers may have speculated that the alien villains appear to have skipped Kara's world. However, the Dominators will make their appearance in an upcoming "Supergirl" Season 2 episode.
In a recent press event, showrunner Andrew Kreisberg teased that the Dominators will also wreak havoc on Supergirl's version of Earth, Comic Book reported. The executive producer stated, "This is not the last you see of the Dominators. [They] will return on Supergirl later this season."
At this point, it is still unclear if the same Dominators that Kara encountered in The CW crossover will somehow find their way to Supergirl's National City. Story speculations teased of how the said alien villains may want to exact revenge on Superman's cousin given her participation in the battle held at Barry's version of Earth.
Other speculations pointed to a different group of Dominators coming to Supergirl's world. The situation may prove advantageous for Kara given her experience in battling the said aliens in Barry's universe.
Meanwhile, "Supergirl" Season 2 episode 8 that marked the first part of The CW crossover event posted strong TV ratings, according to Variety. Aired on Nov. 28, the said episode had a viewership share of 3.51 million and a 1.1 TV rating in the 18-49 demographic.
"Supergirl" Season 2 airs every Wednesday on The CW. Watch a clip of the network's four-part crossover event below:
