Loyal fans of "Sherlock" have barely a month before the series will be back for its season 4 in January. Based on the photos released by BBC, it seems that John Watson will become a father for the fourth installment of "Sherlock".
The photos were taken while actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, and Amanda Wabbington were shooting for "Sherlock" season 4 showed Freeman, who plays Watson, with a baby strapped to his chest, and the titular character Sherlock, played by "Dr. Strange" actor Cumberbatch, is seen scowling at the infant. Apparently, the new baby of John Watson and Mary will play an important role in "Sherlock" season 4.
Fans are surprised that in "Sherlock" season 4, the baby would have been born. Since Mary's pregnancy was mentioned in the last season, most expected that the newest season would feature a pregnant Mary. The picture of the baby indicates that there will be a time jump in "Sherlock" season 4.
The photos released as teasers for "Sherlock" season 4 also showed Toby Jones, who will be the season's newest villain, Culverton Smith. But despite the addition of a new villain, it seems that the archenemy of the titular character, Moriarty, will also be back for vengeance.
Reports indicate that the season 4 of "Sherlock" will also be darker than the previous seasons, with actors saying they were getting goosebumps while reading the script. In the trailer for "Sherlock" season 4, a voiceover says "Something's coming. The roads we walk have demons beneath."
Does this mean that something supernaturally evil will appear in the season 4 of "Sherlock"? There is also talk that someone that Sherlock is fond of will die. It's a toss-up between Mary, John Watson's wife, or Mycroft, Sherlock's own brother.
