Sometimes, no matter how great or skilled of an actor you are, there will be times when you will do something that is not great. The worst part is when it is already caught on cam and you can't do anything but watch the scene go by.
This is what happened to Marion Cotillard , one of the most promising actresses in Hollywood. Her death scene from the "Dark Knight Rises" however, took some of her greatness. She admits that she wants it gone but taking on the positive side, she believes that sometimes it happens and wishes that people would focus on the good works she's done instead.
"Sometimes there are failures, and when you see this on screen, you're thinking: 'Why? Why did they keep that take?' But either you blame everyone or nobody. But I thought people overreacted because it was tough to be identified just with this scene. When I'm doing the best I can to find the authenticity in every character that I'm playing, it's tough to be known just for this scene ", Cottilard stated as she discusses her awkward death scene with French publication Allocine, and translated into English by ComicBook.
On the other hand, she's not the only person involved in a not-so-favorable scene. After all, the director himself believed that that particular take is the best one or they did not take another one believing that they already have a take that's good enough. If you can remember how Talia Al Ghul died in "The Dark Knight Rises", then you'll know how equally awkward that scene is. Cotillard's death may seem a little off because of the final statements she gave before dying. It seems like she doesn't know how to die and then in instant, she finally closed her eyes. But after all, she did a brilliant job of portraying her role and we all know that she is still a good actress after all.
