It seems that Bioware will bring back the Multiplayer game feature in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" that was first introduced in the game's predecessor. Multiplayer components being tied into single player RGPs is always a risky business, but Bioware will tend to discover its parameters in the upcoming "Mass Effect: Andromeda" title.
How will Bioware incorporate Multiplayer into the storyline?
The game developers didn't go into the specifics and only stated that the mission funds earned by players in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" Multiplayer can extend into the single player. Bioware added that one of the currencies players earn in Multiplayer has tendrils going out into the rest of the story.
According to Gamespot, Bioware is teasing fans on the new Multiplayer mode in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" and how will it relate to the single player storyline. The Multiplayer mode was introduced in "Mass Effect 3", but Bioware ensures fans that the said feature will be better and bigger in "Mass Effect: Andromeda."
Multiplayer modes via side missions
Producer, Fabrice Condominas also stated that players can send teams to complete some side missions in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" or players can do it themselves in Multiplayer. Meaning, players will have the option of integrating Multiplayer missions into their campaign progress via side missions.
Meanwhile, Condominas added that the Multiplayer mode in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will force players out of a safe zone rather than staying on a fixed location players would defend. "Mass Effect: Andromeda" Multiplayer will also spawn new enemy types and battles are always in a fast-pace motion.
Other than that, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will also include abilities having their own independent cooldowns and the return of the card packs. Card packs can be purchase with real-world money or currency earned while playing "Mass Effect: Andromeda" and card packs also include random assortments of weapons, items, and characters.
